More Tropical Fish for your Aquarium

Tropical fish seem to be the norm for fish tanks.  There are a huge selection of tropical fish at most pet stores.  One of the favored tropical fish are the Loaches or Clown Loach.  These fish can grow up to a foot in lenth, and are quite the social fish schooling around the fish tank with their buddies.  Loaches are suitible with up to six other loaches in the fish tank.

Loaches hang out on the bottom of the fish tank and they are non-aggresive fish.  Loaches seem to have little or no scales on their bodies.  So the water can harm it’s body.  Chemicals, hard water an other poorly maintained components of your aquarium water can severly impact the health of the Loaches.  There are no scales so there is no protection from the toxic materials.  Do not add water supplements uless the label indicates “scaleless fish”

Loaches do well in fish tanks that feature hiding places.  Suitable decorations for the fish tank that benefit the Loach are plant roots, driftwood, and rockwork. Vallisneria and Java fern are also good pleasures for Loaches. Loaches should be placed with other tropical community fish that are non-aggressive

It is recommended for Loaches to be fed twice a day.  Alter the feedings between pellets, lettuce, zuccini and fish flake food.  Make sure you clean out the left over food when the feeding is over for the Algae eaters.  Feedings can last up to 5 minutes.

Other Common Loaches include Golden Dojo, Clown, Skunk, Zebara and Kuhli
